Theatre reservations for Mohanlal’s Villain to start on October 22

After months of anticipation, Mohanlal’s Villain is finally gearing up for release. The movie is set for a grand release on October 27. It will probably be the biggest ever release for a Malayalam movie. Rockline Entertainments will be distributing the film through Maxlab. In Kerala alone, they are planning to release the movie in over 300 centres.

Director B Unnikrishnan, through his Facebook page has informed that the movie’s advance bookings will start from 22nd (Sunday). Special fans will start at 8 AM in centres across Kerala. The director also informed that he will be coming live on Facebook today evening for an interaction with his followers. This Mohanlal starrer is expected to have a huge opening in the Kerala box office. It is releasing on November 2 in UAE and GCC regions.

Villain, a crime thriller, boasts of a star studded cast and some highly talented technicians. Besides Mohanlal, the cast also includes Manju Warrier and some popular South Indian actors like Vishal, Hansika Motwani, Srikanth and Raashi Khanna.

Mohanlal plays Mathew Manjooran, a police officer in the movie. Contrary to the popular belief, Villain is not a mass film, it is an intense thriller which is high on emotions. Cinematography is done by Manoj Paramahamsa and NK Ekambaram. It is said to be the first South Indian to be shot completely in 8K resolution.

Songs are composed by Oppam fame 4 Musics and Ezra fame Sushin Shyam handles the background score. Shameer Mohammed of Charlie and Angamaly Diaries fame is in charge of the edits. Fights have been choreographed by some of India’s leading stunt masters.

Villain is the maiden Malayalam venture of the popular banner Rockline Films, who have previously funded films like Lingaa and Bhajrangi Bhaijaan.
