Iblis: Asif Ali to reunite with Adventures of Omanakuttan director for a musical comedy!
We had recently reported about Asif Ali teaming up with Rohit VS, his Adventures of Omanakuttan director for a new movie titled as Iblis. Premam fame Madonna Sebastian has been paired opposite Asif in this upcoming movie. Like the director’s debut venture, this one is also a very unique attempt. It is a musical comedy on the lines of Ranbir Kapoor’s Jagga Jasoos.
Adventures of Omanakuttan starring Asif Ali and Bhavana in the lead roles was a fun adventure film revolving around an introvert, who looses his memory after an accident. After a lukewarm opening, the movie got good response from the audience thanks to the positive word of mouth in social medias. Asif Ali was widely appreciated for his performance, which many rated as his career best.
In a recent interview to TOI, director Rohit revealed that he is planning an experimental film this time as well. Iblis will have four lead characters played by Asif Ali, Madonna Sebastian, Siddique and Master Adish Praveen. The characters of this film will be extremely animated and are almost caricaturist in their emotions and body language.
Sameer Abdul, the co-writer of Adventures of Omanakuttan has also penned Iblis. It is being funded by Ichais Productions. The makers are planning to start shoot by early next year.
Asif Ali is currently busy shooting for debutant Vijesh Vijay’s Mandaram, in which he will be seen sporting five different looks. Mridul Nair’s fun entertainer B Tech is another film in the pipeline.
