Vijay Sethupathi donates Rs 49.70 lakhs for educational development in Tamil Nadu!
Vijay Sethupathi is one of the very few Tamil actors who is rarely seen in advertisements. The actor recently signed a deal with the ‘Anil Product’ group for endorsement. Known for his generosity, Vijay Sethupathi has donated a whopping sum of Rs 49.70 lakhs for the development of educational institutions in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Vijay Sethupathi is donating the money in memory of medical aspirant Anitha, who recently committed suicide after her longtime dream to become doctor was shattered due to the controversial NEET exam. In a press statement, the actor has clearly given a break down of how he is donating the money.
Ariyalur, the district to which late Anitha belonged, is one of the state’s most backward districts in terms of education. To provide better education in Ariyalur district, Vijay Sethupathi is donating donate Rs 5000 each to 774 anganwadis (Rs 38,70,000). He is also donating give Rs 50,000 each to the 21 blind and deaf schools in Tamil Nadu (Rs 10,50,000). Along with this another Rs 50,000 is offered to the government aided Helen Keller school for the deaf in Ariyalur district.
This is a truly noble gesture by the actor, who is one of the most revered in the industry. Rightly called ‘Makkal Selvan’, Vijay Sethupathi has raised his voice in all the social and political issues in the society.
