Kamal Haasan surprised to know Christopher Nolan had seen Papanasam!
One of the world’s most revered filmmakers, Christopher Nolan is currently in India for a three-day film event called Reframing the Future of Film. Nolan, accompanied by his family arrived in Mumbai on Friday. Filmmaker-archivist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur is hosting Nolan, who is in the country to talk about the future of cinema, particularly film. Nolan has always been vocal about restoring old film reels. His trip has been organised in a hope to revive and restore cinema in the country.
A round-table discussion has also been planned with prominent personalities of the Indian film industry to be attended by Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kamal Haasan, filmmaker Shyam Benegal and others. Kamal Haasan met Christopher Nolan last day in Mumbai and shared a photo in his official social media handle.
Kamal Haasan, in his note, said that he apologized to Nolan for watching the director’s highly acclaimed ‘Dunkirk’ in the digital format. In return, Haasan is sending a digital format copy of his movie ‘Hey Ram’, which is widely regarded as one of the finest ever works by him. Haasan added that he was surprised to know Nolan had watched his movie ‘Papanasam’.
Christopher Nolan will be returning back on Tuesday. Before that he will be attending the screenings of two of his recent films the Oscar nominated Dunkirk and Interstellar.
