Malayali: Sathyan Anthikad-Sreenivasan combo’s next is with Fahadh Faasil
We were among the first to report about the famous writer-director duo Sreenivasan and Sathyan Anthikad teaming up after a decade long gap. Fahadh Faasil is playing the lead in their comeback movie which has been titled as ‘Malayali’. The director officially announced the project today (April 14) through his Facebook page.
Fahadh Faasil, who is basking in the glory of the National award, will be playing the role of Prakashan in the movie. From the title we presume that it will be a typical Sreenivasan style satire that discusses about the socio-political issues that an average Malayali is facing currently. This is Fahadh’s second film with Sathyan Anthikad after the hit film ‘Oru Indian Pranayakatha’.
Malayali looks like a very promising project as Sathyan Anthikad-Sreenivasan combo have delivered several memorable films like Sandesham, TP Balagopalan MA, Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam, Gandhinagar 2nd Street, Nadodikattu, Thalayanamanthram etc. Their last outing together was for the Jayaram starrer Yathrakarude Sradhakku, released back in 2002.
Sethu Mannarkad of Full Moon Cinema is producing Malayali. Interestingly, the director’s last film ‘Jomonte Suvisheshangal’, which had Dulquer Salmaan in the lead, was also produced by the same banner. Shoot for this upcoming movie will be commencing by the first week of July.
S Kumar, a regular in Sathyan Anthikad films will be wielding the camera and the much in demand Shaan Rahman has been signed as the composer. Details regarding the supporting cast have not yet been announced. Stay tuned for more updates.
