AR Rahman donates Rs 1 crore to Kerala CMDRF
Oscar award winning composer AR Rahman pledged a whopping Rs 1 crore for the flood-affected state of Kerala. The musician took to his social media handle to announce that he along with his team of artists have donated the money to Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).
AR Rahman, who is on a concert tour in the US, shared a photo of his team holding a cheque pledging the amount to help those affected in the floods in Kerala. His tweet reads,
From my artistes and me touring the USA… To our brothers and sisters of Kerala!
May this small offering help in providing you some relief!
Film personalities from across the country have contributed their share to the CMDRF. Apart from the help from those in the Malayalam movie fraternity, many non-Malayali celebrities like Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Siddharth, Varun Dhawan, Sunny Leone, Karthi, Keerthi Suresh, Raghava Lawrence, Vijay, Dhanush, Vishal and Suriya have been very generous with their donations.
