Pranav Mohanlal to play the lead in Arjun Reddy remake?
Last day, we had reported about E4 Entertainment acquiring the Malayalam dubbing and remake rights of Telugu blockbuster, Arjun Reddy. Ever since then, there have been lot of speculations about who will reprising Vijay Deverakonda’s lead character from the original. While names like Tovino Thomas and Antony Varghese have been doing the rounds for sometime, latest buzz is that the makers are in talks with Pranav Mohanlal.
Arjun Reddy, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, was a sensational hit all across the South. The movie is about an extremely talented medical surgeon who falls madly in love with his college junior. He becomes addicted to drugs and alcohol post break-up and the rest of the story is about how he redeems himself.
Vijay Deverakonda’s stellar performance as the surgeon with anger management issues was widely talked about. It will be a big challenge for any actor to outperform him. Meanwhile, the movie is also being remade in Hindi and Tamil with Shahid Kapoor and Dhruv Vikram playing the lead roles respectively.
There is still no confirmation about Pranav expressing his interest in doing the remake but it will be huge if he signs it. The actor is currently busy shooting for ‘Irupathiyonnam Noottandu’, directed by Arun Gopy. He will also be seen in a cameo role in the upcoming epic film, ‘Marakkar – Arabikadalinte Simham’.
