Vada Chennai gets an ‘A’ certificate; Watch out for a raw and gritty gangster-drama!
The highly anticipated Dhanush starrer ‘Vada Chennai’ is gearing up for release. The movie which marks his reunion with multiple National award winning director Vetrimaran is all set to hit screens on October 17. The actor’s own banner Wunderbar Films is funding the movie jointly with Lyca Productions. The movie has been censored with an A certificate for its gritty and raw moments. Apparently, the censor board officials have allowed the use of swear words in the movie.
‘Vada Chennai’ is an epic gangster saga that spans different timelines. The lives of people in North Chennai is captured authentically in the film. Dhanush plays the lead role of Anbu. He appears in three different looks and is said to have given one of his career best performances. The actor shares a great rapport with Vetrimaran. They have previously worked together in ‘Polladhavan’ and ‘Aadukalam’. Both the films were widely acclaimed with ‘Aadukalam’ alone bagging six awards at the National level.
‘Vada Chennai’ also has director Ameer playing a very crucial role. Andrea Jeremiah, Aishwarya Rajesh, Samuthirakani, Daniel Balaji Kishore, Karunas, Pawan and Radha Ravi will be seen in other major roles. The project has been planned as a trilogy. 20% portions of the second part has already been shot.
