Marakkar-Arabikadalinte Simham will have top stars from India and abroad: Producer Santhosh Kuruvilla
We are exactly a month away from the commencement of Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’s shoot. This highly ambitious period-flick helmed by Priyadarshan is getting ready to go on floors on December 1. As per reports, shoot will kick-start in Hyderabad’s Ramoji Rao Film City, where huge sets are being erected. The makers have finalized the cast and it will be officially announced shortly.
Santhosh T Kuruvilla, one of the movie’s producers, has confirmed that the movie will have actors from India and abroad. Re-sharing one of his earlier posts, he has written,
“This was my post one year before only with the dream…. even i couldnt imagine that it will happen…..I BELIEVE DREAMS ARE THE MOST POWER FULL ENERGY……exactly in one month time Kunjali Marakar shoot will start rolling and ever biggest movie …History …Mass….Action….and actors from all language in india and abroad all set and fixed..”
The movie is based on the life of Kunjali Marakkar IV. Kunjali Marakkar was the title given to the naval chief of Zamorin of Calicut in the 16th century, whose duty was to protect the coast against the invading Portuguese army. Mohanlal plays the titular role in the movie while his son Pranav plays the younger part of his character.
Arjun Sarja, Suniel Shetty, Mukesh, Keerthy Suresh, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Madhu, Manju Warrier and Pooja Kumar are said to be part of the cast. Few British and Chinese actors will also be seen in the movie. The technical crew includes DOP Tirru and production designer Sabu Cyril. Music will be handled by three different composers.
Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment are coming together to produce what is one of the most expensive projects in Malayalam cinema till date. The movie has been planned to be made on an estimated budget of Rs 100 crores.
