Sarkar team get together for success celebration!
As Sarkar continues to create new records at the box office, the core team got together last day for success celebration. Vijay, director AR Murugadoss, music director AR Rahman, lyricist Vivek and the two lead ladies- Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar were present for the celebration. AR Rahman posted the photos on his social media handle. Interestingly, the team celebrated by cutting a cake that had icing designed as a mixie and grinder.
It must be noted that Sarkar team had to go through lot of trouble after the ruling AIADMK initiated protests claiming that the makers have shown the government’s freebie policy in bad light. They had demanded the removal of a particular scene in the movie where the characters are shown throwing freebies into fire. Director AR Murugadoss had also made a cameo appearance in the scene. Eventually, the makers had to give in and cut the scenes to avoid further issues. By using mixie and grinder shaped icing, the Sarkar team has taken a clear jibe at the intolerant politicians.
From its first six days of theatrical run, Sarkas has done a whopping bussiness of over Rs 150 crores worldwide. Opening on Diwali day, the movie took the box office by storm by earning a net business of Rs 35 crore. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the movie is also doing tremendously well in Andhra Pradesh, Telengana and in all major overseas centres. It is most likely to end its theatrical run as the highest grosser in Tamil cinema.
