Tovino is the most talented among the younger generation of actors: Salim Ahamed
Tovino’s new film ‘And The Oskar Goes To’ (ATOGT) is all set for release tomorrow (June 21). The movie directed by award-winning filmmaker Salim Ahamed has been eagerly awaited by Malayali cinephiles. Recently, at its world premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Alberta in Canada, the movie garnered excellent response from the viewers. It also bagged four awards at the fest, which includes best actor, best director, best film and best supporting actress.
‘ATOGT’ tells the story of a film taking its director to the Oscars. It chronicles the life and struggle of an aspiring filmmaker. Director Salim Ahamed scripted the movie partly based on his own experiences and some other real life filmmakers. In a recent interview, the director was asked about why he chose Tovino for the film. According to him, Tovino was able to understand the struggle of a filmmaker as he himself started off as an assistant director and then had to work his way up. Tovino was also the first choice as Salim Ahamed believes that he is the most talented among the current generation of actors.
‘ATOGT’ has Tovino playing the role of a young, passionate director named Isaak Ebrahem. Along with him, the movie also has a good set of supporting actors like Siddique, Anu Sithara, Maala Parvathy, Lal, Sreenivasan, Salim Kumar, Zarina Wahab and Appani Sarath. Salim Ahmed’s regular set of technicians – cinematographer Madhu Ambat, music director Bijibal and sound designer Resul Pookutty are part of this film as well.
Allen Media is presenting the movie in association with Canadian Movie Corp.
