Bachchan Pandey: Akshay Kumar’s new film announced
Akshay Kumar seems to be trying to attain a fine balance between mass masala films and content oriented ones. It has just been announced that he will be starring in a new mass entertainer titled as ‘Bachchan Pandey’. Farhad Samji is directing the movie and it is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The makers are planning to as a Christmas release next year. In the first look poster, a bare-chested, intense looking Akshay is seen holding a nunuchaku.
Akshay also has another mass entertainer in the making – Sooryavanshi. The Rohit Shetty directorial has the khiladi back doing some daredevilry stunts. The makers had released a couple of stills featuring Akshay doing a bike chase and a helicopter stunt. He plays an anti-terrorist squad officer in the movie, which belongs to Rohit Shetty’s cop cinematic universe. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh are also expected to appear in cameo roles.

Meanwhile, Akshay’s much-talked about ‘Mission Mangal’ is also gearing up for release. The movie based on Mangalyaan, India’s first interplanetary mission to reach the Mars orbit, is directed by Jagan Shakti. Besides Akshay, it also stars Vidya Balan, Nithya Menen, Tapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharman Joshi and Kirti Kulhari. The movie is scheduled for release on Independence Day ( August 15).
