Official: Superstar Rajinikanth’s next to be directed by Siva
So it has finally been announced that Rajinikanth’s next film, tentatively titled as ‘Thalaivar 168’, will be directed by Siva. Sun Pictures is producing the film. It marks the banner’s second time collaboration with the superstar after delivering blockbusters with ‘Enthiran’ and ‘Petta’.
After the massive success of ‘Viswasam’, Siva is now one of the most wanted filmmakers in Kollywood. He was supposed to do a film with Suriya next but it is learnt that project has now been postponed. The film got officially announced in April and shoot was planned to commence by the end of this year.
But apparently, Rajinikanth, who recently finished shooting for his portions for ‘Darbar’, had asked director Siva if he could start their film by early next year. After holding talks with Studio Green, the makers of Suriya’s film, Siva has decided to go ahead with Rajinikanth’s project.
Siva’a film with superstar is expected to be a rural based mass entertainer on the lines of ‘Viswasam’. It has been a long while since Rajinikanth has done a family entertainer, so Siva’s film is most likely to be one. More details are expected to be announced by the makers soon.
