Vijay’s Bigil censored with U/A certificate
As the release date is closing in, Vijay’s ‘Bigil’ went to the censors last day. The CBFC has awarded the film an U/A certificate. The film has a run time of 2 hours 59 minutes (178.59), which is quite long for a mass entertainer. Now that the censoring is done, everyone is eager to hear from the makers about the release date. There is a confusion regarding the same as the festival day Diwali (October 27) falls on a Sunday.
Meanwhile, the trailer of ‘Bigil’ continues to shatter records. After notching up 29 million views and 2 million likes on YouTube, it has become the first from South Indian cinema to achieve this feat. Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero is the only other Indian film to have 2 million likes. ‘Bigil’ has become the fastest to cross the mark. After the trailer release, hype around the film has gone to extremely high levels.
Vijay plays a dual role in ‘Bigil’. The star essays the roles of a gangster father and a football enthusiast son, who later becomes a coach. There are also talks about a third character but the makers are yet to confirm this. ‘Mersal’ fame GK Vishnu is the cinematographer, Ruben is the editor and AR Rahman composing music for the film.
In Kerala, ‘Bigil’ will be released jointly in a good number of screens by Prithviraj Productions and Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames
