Thalaivi First Look: Here’s Kangana Ranaut as Jayalalithaa!
As we already know, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is starring in the biopic of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. The film titled as ‘Thalaivi’ is directed by AL Vijay. Its first looks poster has just been released online. Kangana is seen in two different looks in the poster – one resembling Jayalalithaa in her young days and one in her overweight look.
‘Thalaivi’ is being made in Tamil as well as Hindi. There is also a dubbed version in Telugu. Arvind Swami is essaying a crucial role in the film as MGR. It must be noted that MGR and Jayalalithaa were very close to each other right from their acting days. They had starred in 28 hit films between 1965 and 1973. Moreover, it was MGR who introduced Jayalalithaa to the world of politics.
‘Thalaivi’ is scripted jointly by ‘Baahubali’ writer KV Vijayendra Prasad and Rajat Arora. The story, which spans several decades, will shed light on how MGR became Jayalalithaa’s mentor as she forayed into politics through his party. The film has Vishal Vittal cranking the camera and music composed by GV Prakash. Vishnu Induri and Shaailesh R Singh are jointly producing the film.
‘Thalivi’ is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on June 26, 2020.
