Thalapathy 65: Vijay’s remuneration skyrockets to 100 crore!!
After delivering back to back massive blockbusters, Tamil actor Vijay has now become one of the most bankable superstars in Indian cinema. His last few films – ‘Mersal’, ‘Sarkar’ and ‘Bigil’ have all been hugely successful worldwide. Unlike other stars, Vijay’s films are doing tremendously well in both domestic and overseas centres. His new film, ‘Master’, which is still on the floors, has already done some huge pre-release business which includes the digital, streaming and theatrical rights in neighboring states.
Riding on the phenomenal success of his films, it is said that Vijay’s remuneration has skyrocketed to a whopping Rs 100 crore. Though an official announcement is yet to be made, Sun Pictures is reported to have offered this staggering amount for the star’s next film, tentatively titled as ‘Thalapathy 65’. It is learnt that the production house has already paid Rs 50 crore in advance to Vijay for their next project. Names of directors like Vetrimaaran, Shankar and AR Murugadoss are doing the rounds but the makers are yet to confirm on it.
If news about the new increased remuneration is true, Vijay is now the highest paid star in Tamil cinema beating Rajinikanth, who was paid Rs 90 for his upcoming release ‘Darbar’, which is also produced by Sun Pictures.
