Priyadarshan and TK Rajeev Kumar project dropped; Vysakh to helm AMMA’s multi-starrer film?
Last month, during the inauguration of the new building of Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), it was announced that Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas will be producing a multi-starrer film on the lines of ‘Twenty 20’. Priyadarshan and TK Rajeev Kumar were announced as the directors. The latter was also scripting the film, which was confirmed as a crime thriller. Around 140 artists from the association were supposed to be part of the cast.
However, latest reports suggest that the project has been dropped. Instead, director Vysakh will be helming another multi-starrer for AMMA and it will be scripted by Udhayakrishna, who was also the co-writer of ‘Twenty 20’. It is not yet known why Priyadarshan-TK Rajeev Kumar project got abandoned in the initial stages itself. An official word regarding the same is expected to be out very soon.
Vysakh meanwhile has a couple of other projects in the pipeline. He is teaming up with Mammootty for a big budget film titled ‘New York’. It is scripted by Naveen John, who had earlier penned the film ‘Ira’. The director is also planning to make a mass-action film titled ‘Bruce Lee’ with Unni Mukundan. Udhayakrishna is scripting that film as well.
