Kho Kho trailer gives a proper sports-drama feel
Rajisha Vijayan’s new film ‘Kho Kho’ is all set to hit screens on April 14 as a Vishu release. With just a few days left for release, the makers have shared the trailer online. ‘Kho Kho’ is a sports-based film that has Rajisha playing the role of a Kho Kho coach. She essays a character named Maria Francis, who trains a set of young school girls against all odds. Since Rajisha appears in two different looks in the trailer, we perceive that she will be seen both as a player and a coach.
‘Kho Kho’ is written and directed by Rahul Riji Nair of ‘Ottamuri Velicham’ fame. His last film ‘Kalla Nottam’ recently won the National award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. It is probably the first time that a film based on Kho Kho is being made in mainstream Indian cinema.
The film’s cast includes Venkitesh, Mamitha Baiju, Vettukili Prakash and Renjit Shekar among others. Some original Kho Kho players are also acting in the film. ‘Kho Kho’ has cinematography by Tobin Thomas and music by Sidhartha Pradeep. Editor-turned-filmmaker Appu Bhattathiri is the post-production supervisor and edits are done by Christy Sebastian. The film is being produced under the banner of First Print Studios.
