Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ Emerges as India’s Highest-Grossing Hindi Film – Box Office Report
Shah Rukh Khan, affectionately known as the King Khan of Bollywood, has made a triumphant comeback this year following a brief lull in his career. In 2023, he delivered consecutive blockbusters with “Pathaan” and “Jawan.” “Pathaan,” released in January 2023, amassed a staggering 1000 crores in global box office earnings, with the Hindi version alone contributing a net gross of 522 crores domestically.
However, “Jawan,” released in September of the same year, outshone its predecessor, collecting a remarkable 569 crores as the domestic net gross in its Hindi version. By the time “Jawan” almost concluded its global run, the final worldwide box office tally reached an astounding 1125 crores. With this feat, Shah Rukh Khan became the first Indian actor to deliver two 1000-crore-grossing films in a single year.
The all-India gross of “Jawan,” encompassing all language versions, stands at an impressive 744 crores, with overseas earnings totaling around 380 crores. It now ranks second only to Aamir Khan’s “Dangal” in Bollywood, which crossed the 2000-crore mark in global earnings, including all language versions.
Directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee and produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, “Jawan” featured an ensemble cast, including Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, alongside Shah Rukh Khan in dual roles.
