Narain Reveals 10-Minute Short Film as Origin of Lokesh Cinematic Universe
Narain, known for his role as Inspector Bejoy in the acclaimed film Kaithi and later as part of Kamal Haasan’s Vikram team, recently engaged with college students, shedding light on his next project, Queen Elizabeth.
During this interaction, the actor was probed about updates on Kaithi 2. While unable to divulge much, Narain disclosed an exciting development: a completed 10-minute short film, conceived by him and director Lokesh Kanagaraj, serving as the genesis of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
“Lokesh is presently immersed in his upcoming project with Rajini sir, and Kaithi 2 will follow,” shared Narain.
He elaborated, “Although not officially announced, Lokesh and I have crafted a 10-minute short film intricately linked to LCU. This short film acts as a prelude to Kaithi, setting the stage for the entire universe.”
LCU, an interconnected narrative envisioned and helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, commenced with the Karthi-starrer Kaithi and expanded its horizon in Kamal Haasan’s Vikram. The universe further integrated Thalapathy Vijay as Leo and featured Suriya as the primary antagonist.
While Lokesh is currently gearing up for his next venture with Superstar Rajinikanth, tentatively titled Thalaivar 171, the director confirmed that Kaithi 2 is undeniably his subsequent project post the Rajinikanth starrer. This revelation marks an exciting phase for LCU enthusiasts, as the short film sets the foundation for an intricately connected cinematic universe, promising an enthralling narrative journey.
