Asif Ali’s Next Project with ‘1001 Nunakal’ Director Thamar KV Set to Roll in Dubai
After celebrating the massive success of Kishkindha Kaandam, Malayalam star Asif Ali is gearing up for an exciting new venture with Dubai-based director Thamar KV. Known for his critically acclaimed debut film, 1001 Nunakal, Thamar’s upcoming project will mark his second feature, which he will also script. This upcoming film promises to be set against a Gulf backdrop, and principal photography is expected to kick off mid-November in Dubai, spanning over a 40-day schedule.
Though the cast is nearly finalized, the official announcement will come just before filming begins. This project takes precedence over Asif Ali’s Tiki Taka, directed by Rohit VS, which was initially slated to resume this November but has now been pushed to early 2025. Besides this collaboration, Asif Ali is also set to share the screen with Malayalam legends Mohanlal and Mammootty in an upcoming Mahesh Narayanan directorial, adding another exciting milestone to his career.
Thamar’s 1001 Nunakal received critical acclaim for its engaging storyline and was showcased at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). With this new film, he and Asif Ali aim to captivate audiences with a fresh narrative in a unique setting.
