Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan 2 Set to Begin Filming in 2026; Script Finalized
Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to return as the fearless spy in Pathaan 2, with filming expected to start in early 2026. Reports indicate that Aditya Chopra has finalized the script after thorough planning, ensuring the sequel not only advances Pathaan’s journey but also plays a crucial role in expanding YRF’s Spy Universe. Writers Sridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, alongside Aditya Chopra, have crafted a gripping, large-scale narrative that promises to be bigger and more intense than the first film. Shah Rukh Khan, who was actively involved in discussions, has given his approval and is excited about the project.
Although the script is locked, YRF is still in search of a director to take the franchise forward. Siddharth Anand, who directed Pathaan, will not be returning for the sequel, leading Aditya Chopra to look for a fresh perspective. The film’s pre-production is expected to commence in late 2025, with SRK beginning his shoot after completing King, his upcoming action thriller with Suhana Khan, directed by Siddharth Anand.
As the eighth film in YRF’s Spy Universe, Pathaan 2 will follow Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. The franchise is set to expand further with War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, as well as Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. With Pathaan 2 promising high-octane action and an engaging storyline, fans can expect another blockbuster addition to this hit franchise.
