In a massive cinematic development, Allu Arjun has officially teamed up with blockbuster Tamil director Atlee for an ambitious sci-fi action entertainer, tentatively titled AA22. The announcement was made on the actor’s 43rd birthday, setting social media abuzz with excitement. Backed by Sun Pictures, the film is touted to be a path-breaking project in Indian cinema, promising a never-seen-before blend of mass appeal, cutting-edge visuals, and emotionally charged storytelling.
The announcement video shared by Sun Pictures features Allu Arjun meeting Atlee and producer Kalanithi Maran in Chennai, where the trio finalizes the project. The video also offers a glimpse into their visit to leading VFX studios in Los Angeles, where they brainstorm with top-tier Hollywood technicians. Notably, the team includes Jos Fernandez of Ironhead Studio—renowned for Marvel hits like Avengers and Spider-Man—and VFX supervisor James Madigan, known for Iron Man 2 and GI Joe: Retaliation.
Calling it a dream project, Atlee revealed that the film has been years in the making and is deeply rooted in Indian ethos with global appeal.
