Charlie grossed around 1.6 crore from Kerala on its second day.!
Dulquer Salmaan’s latest release Chralie is doing good at box office. It had a fantastic start in Box office on its first day collecting 2.18 crore from Kerala. The flick has said to be beaten the first day collection record of Mohanlal starrer Loham, which had earned the record by collecting 2.14 crore from its first day. That too happened this year Onam season. Charlie reportedly surpassed that collection by 2 lakhs margin and made 2.18 crore from its first day. On its second day the collection of this film is around 1.6 crores from Kerala.
Yes, ofcourse there is a slump in its collection with regard to its first day. But the second day gross was also good in terms of financial terms. As per the reports from trade guides the share from second day gross was around 60 lakhs rupees. The film had released outside Kerala n its second day and the rest of India collection is not available correctly. But the film had good number of screens outside Kerala as well and expected to get good collection from that area as well.
The film which told a different love story had generated mixed opinion among the audience. The critics too having mixed opinion about the film. Now we have to look how it fares from Monday in the box office. Because it is a working day and if the film have to declared a super hit or above that it had to get steady collection on its weekdays. The film was directed by Martin Prakatt after ABCD and it was scripted by him in association with Unni R.
Unni R had written the script of last year film Munnariyippu starring Mammootty, directed by Venu. Parvathy Menon played the female lead in this film Charlie and she is getting great applause for her performance along with Dulquer Salmaan. He also getting the appreciation as many says that its his career best performance till date.
Now we have to wait until one more week to know the exact box office status of this film.
