2019 Forbes India Celebrity 100 List released
Every year, Forbes India release the list of highest earning celebrities in the country. Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli has topped the list this year. He is probably the most paid cricketer in the world. The 31-year-old has earned Rs 252.72 crore between October 1, 2018, and September 30, 2019. This was through match fees, the BCCI central contract, brand endorsements and an eight-figure fee for every sponsored Instagram post.
Following him closely is Akshay Kumar (293.25 cr) and Salman Khan (229.25 cr). Amitabh Bachchan (239.25 cr), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (135.93 cr), Shah Rukh Khan (124.38 cr), Ranveer Singh (118.20 cr), Alia Bhatt (59.21 cr), Sachin Tendulkar (76.96 cr) and Deepika Padukone (48 cr) are the other celebrities in the top 10 positions.
Superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty are the only actors from Malayalam cinema to be part of the list. While the former did not find a spot in the list, he is now placed at the the 27th position with earnings of Rs 64.50 crore. Mammootty is at the 62nd spot with earnings of Rs 33.50 crore.

According to Forbes, the rankings are based on two parameters – estimates of earnings through professions and endorsements of celebrities and estimates of their fame. Event appearances, private performances, returns on investments and stake sales are not considered. The period under consideration for both is from October 1, 2018, to September 30, 2019.
