Action against me would not have been initiated without the knowledge of Mohanlal: Vinayan
Director has come out hard against the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA). After the Competition Commission of India (CCI) asked AMMA, FEFKA and two of their subsidiary organisations, to pay a fine to the tune of Rs 11.25 lakh, Vinayan had asked the office bearers of these organizations to step down.
He asked AMMA president and Lok Sabha MP Innocent and FEFKA heads B Unnikrishnan and Sibi Malayil to resign from their positions. He also alleged that actions against him would not have been initiated by secretary Idavela Babu without the knowledge of Mohanlal, the general secretary of AMMA.
He offered this victory to late actor Tilakan. He made severe allegations against directors B Unnikrishnan, Kamal, Siddique and Sibi Malayil. Vinayan had approached the CCI after the organisations had issued an unofficial ban on him in the film industry. He filed a complaint stating that, AMMA and FEFKA asked actors and other technicians in the Malayalam film industry not to associate with him.
The CCI has imposed a hefty fine on the office bearers of the organisations. AMMA was asked to pay a fine of around Rs 4 lakh while FEFKA has to pay Rs 85,000.
FEFKA’s director union and production executives’ union have also been asked to pay a fine of over Rs 3 lakh and Rs 56,000 respectively. Directors B Unnikrishnan and K Mohanan have to pay around Rs 19,000 and Rs 27,000 respectively. Actor Innocent was imposed a fine of Rs 51,000 while Sibi Malayil will have to pay around Rs 61,000.
