Mohanlal’s much awaited 1971 Beyond Borders was released on April 7, Friday. The movie, directed by Major Ravi is the fourth in the Major Mahadevan series.
1971 Beyond Borders is based on the 1971 Indo- Pak war and has a huge star cast. Priyanka Agarwal who played the part of Pakistani Lieutenant Colonel Rana Sharif’s wife is overwhelmed to be part of a Mohanlal movie.
In a recent interview to Deccan Chronicle, she is quoted saying, “I was overwhelmed when I got the call to act in a film with Lal sir. But sadly, we had no combination scenes. Now I am looking forward to get more roles in Malayalam as well as Telugu. I am getting many offers.”
Incidentally, Priyanka Agarwal first faced camera in Malayalam along with Mohanlal in an ad film. She was later recommended by veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan for the role in 1971 Beyond Borders. Priyanka played the wife of Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh’s character. She is seen in two different looks in the movie, one in her younger days and the other as a 65 year old.
1971 Beyond Borders, produced by Haneef Muhammed under the banner Red Rose Creations also starred Telugu actor Allu Sirish, Srushti Dange, Priyanka Agarwal and Zoya Zayed Khan in supporting roles.
