And The Oskar Goes To, Olu and Uyare among 28 films competing for India’s Oscar entry
It’s that time of the year when films from various languages across India are considered for the Oscar submission. The selection process of India’s Oscar entry this year is currently taking place in Kolkata. As per reports, 28 films are in contention this year, which includes three from Malayalam – ‘And The Oskar Goes To’, ‘Olu’ and ‘Uyare’.
‘Andhadhun’, ‘Article 15’, ‘Badhaai Ho’, ‘Badla’, ‘Super Deluxe’ and ‘Vada Chennai’ are some of the other popular films in contention. The selection process is said to have commenced on Wednesday and the results are expected to be announced on Sunday (September 22). Actor-turned-filmmaker Aparna Sen is the chairperson of the committee. Other members from the jury include Pratim D Gupta, Ashoke Viswanathan, Sujay Dutta Ray, Padmanabha Dasgupta and Debojyoti Mishra.
