The sequel in the epic Baahubali franchise is nearing the Rs 100 crore mark in Tamil Nadu. The movie was released in Tamil and Telugu in Tamil Nadu, but the Telugu share is estimated to be only around Rs 3 crores.
The movie, released on April 28 has already earned around Rs 90 crores from the Tamil Nadu box office and will cross the 100 crore mark very shortly. Theatres are witnessing unprecedented rush for the movie in Tamil Nadu.
Release of several Tamil movies have been held back due to the Baahubali storm. Main screens in most centres are screening Baahubali even though the menace of piracy continues. Recently, 15 people were arrested in Chennai with pirated copies of Baahubali but that hasn’t stopped people from visiting theatres in large numbers.
