Charlie to Kollywood and Madhavan to replace Dulquer Salmaan

Last year Malayalam blockbuster named Charlie starred by Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy Menon is all set to be remade in Tamil and popular South Indian and Bollywood actor Madhavan to replace Dulquer Salmaan in the Tamil version. The team behind the Tamil version of the film trying to rope in Parvathy Menon to play the female lead in the Tamil version also.

Popular director Vijay, who shot to fame through Madrassipattanam will direct the Tamil version of Charlie. In Malayalam, the film was directed by Martin Prakatt and he also was the co-writer of this film with noted writer Unni R. Martin Prakkatt was one of the producers of the film as well along with Joju George and Shebin Bucker. They produced and distributed the film under the banner of Finding Cinemas in Mollywood.

Pramodh Films will produce the Tamil remake of Charlie and as per reports they will begin the filming in this coming November. Director Vijay is currently busy with his project named Devi (L) with Tamannah and Prabhu Deva. He will have a Jayam Ravi project as well after this.

Charlie had won 8 recognitions at the Kerala State Film awards and Dulquar Salman had won his first Best Actor state award as well. Parvathy also won Best Actress award for her performance in this film and Ennu Ninte Moideen. The flick has done a total business around 40 crore worldwide.
