Chatha Pacha: Ring of Rowdies – A WWE-Inspired Action Spectacle Set to Redefine Malayalam Cinema
Reel World Entertainment, a collaboration between Transworld Group (Ramesh & Ritesh Ramakrishnan) and Lensman Group (Shihan Shoukath), is set to make a grand entry into Malayalam cinema with Chatha Pacha: Ring of Rowdies. This action-packed entertainer blends humor, high-octane wrestling sequences, and an underdog spirit, promising a unique cinematic experience.
The film follows a group of misfits, ex-convicts, and outcasts who establish an underground WWE-style wrestling club in Fort Kochi. What starts as a small fight club turns into a massive spectacle, with the fighters adopting larger-than-life personas inspired by their childhood WWE heroes. However, as their popularity soars, they must navigate personal rivalries, old enemies, and law enforcement threats, making their biggest battle one for survival.
Directed by Adhvaith Nayar, nephew of Mohanlal, the film features a stellar cast, including Arjun Ashokan (Romancham), Roshan Mathew (Moothon, Darlings), Ishan Shoukath (Marco), and Vishak Nair (Officer on Duty). Talks are ongoing with Pooja Mohandas (Journey of Love 18+). The film marks the Malayalam debut of legendary music trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar (RDX, Kurup).
With action choreographed by Kalai Kingson (Leo, Vikram), cinematography by Chandru Selvaraj (Mahaveeryar), and editing by Praveen Prabhakar (Premam, Trance), Chatha Pacha is set to begin filming in May 2025 for a year-end release. The film will also introduce exclusive merchandising, including action figures, trading cards, and a video game, expanding its reach beyond the big screen.
