Chathur Mukham withdrawn from theatres due to surge in Covid-19 cases

As the nation is reeling under a brutal second wave of the pandemic, threats of a full lockdown is looming large. Already several states have implemented partial lockdowns which includes shutting downs of malls, theatres and restaurants. Like last year, entertainment industry has once again been severely hit. Several films which were were running successfully in theatres are now being withdrawn by the makers.

The Malayalam film ‘Chathur Mukham’ is being withdrawn despite it having a good run so far. Informing the same through her social media handle, lead actress Manju Warrier has written,

Dear ones,
We are temporarily withdrawing our film CHATHURMUKHAM from theatres in Kerala considering the current situation all around and everyone’s health. We will definitely be back in theatres for you when it is safer, hopefully very soon.

‘Chathur Mukham’ directed by Ranjeet Kamala Sankar and Salil V. Manju Warrier and Sunny Wayne play the lead roles in the film, which is a techno-horror thriller, a first of its kind attempt in Malayalam. Anil Kumar and Abhaya Kumar have jointly penned the script. Upon its release on April 8, the film opened to largely positive response. On Vishu day (April 14), it got released in UAE and GCC region as well.
