Covid-19: Raghava Lawrence contributes another 25 lakhs!
Raghava Lawrence continues to win hearts with his generous contributions towards Covid-19 relief. He had already donated Rs 3 crores and more recently he has pledged financial assistance of another Rs 25 lakhs to Tamil Nadu’s Corporation sanitary workers. This amount is from the advance of his new film with producer Kathiresan.
When it comes to helping the needy, Lawrence has always been on the forefront. Recently, he donated the entire advance amount of Rs 3 crores that he received as advance from Sun Pictures for his new film ‘Chandramukhi 2’. From the amount, Rs 50 lakhs each is promised to the PM – CARES fund, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s relief fund, FEFSI workers and Dancer’s Union. Rs 25 lakhs will be donated to the physical disabled boys who he has been supporting for long and another Rs 75 lakhs for daily wage labourers from his birth place Royapuram in Chennai.
Even after making such huge contributions, Lawrence feels that the amount he has donated won’t be enough. Ever since he made the announcement about donating Rs 3 crores, he has been getting many calls and messages for help from those within the film industry and others. It has deeply moved him and he is planning to offer financial assistance to more people.
