Cyber cell keeping a track on WhatsApp groups and Facebook accounts sharing Pulimurugan piracy
Pulimurugan has been continuing its amazing run in the theatres even after 4 weeks of its release. But now there is a serious issues that has cropped up.
Piracy links of the movie are being shared through WhatsApp and Facebook accounts. The pirated version of the movie was available in some websites before cyber cell removed the links.
Cyber cell is now keeping a track on WhatsApp and Facebook groups sharing Pulimurugan piracy links. This is a very serious issue and offenders will be severely punished, said the authorities.
Earlier also during the initial few days of release, some of the important scenes in the movie was captured in mobile phones and was shared via social media pages. The highlight scenes in the movie like Mohanlal’s fights with the tigers were shared in many pages.
Director Vysakh through his Facebook page asked people not to share such videos. Because it was the hard work and sweat of every single member of the cast and crew of Pulimurugan. They had to walk kilometers with shooting props on their heads through the dense forests to make the movie. He urged the audience to watch the movie only from theatres.
Piracy is a very alarming situation which is plaguing all the film industries in the country. Months of efforts and hard work of hundreds of people are blown away by spreading the pirated copies.
Pulimurugan is Malayalam cinema’s pride because the movie has had record a release overseas. It has released in almost 100 theatres in Britain and 12 other European countries. The massive success of Pulimurugan can expand the reach of Malayalam movies.
Once Malayalam movies can make it big in the international market, big budget films will be produced in Mollywood. This will indirectly be beneficial for the growth of the industry.
