Dulquer Salmaan to enter Bollywood?
We had earlier told you that Dulquer Salmaan is working with Bollywood filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar for an upcoming movie titled as Solo. It is being made as a bilingual in Malayalam and Tamil.
Now, we hear that Bejoy Nambiar is planning to make a Bollywood movie with Dulquer in the lead. Bejoy is an established filmmaker in Bollywood. He is famous for his movies like Shaitaan, the bilingual David and Wazir starring Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akthar in the lead. So teaming up with Bejoy Nambiar will be the perfect launch pad for Dulquer in Bollywood. An official confirmation regarding the same is still awaited.
He has already made a mark in Tamil industry through his movies Vaayai Moodi Pesavum and Mani Ratnam’s OK Kanmani. He is quite popular in Bollywood also. Recently, his super hit movie OK Kanmani was remade in Hindi as OK Jaanu with Aditya Roy Kapur reprising his role.
Meanwhile, the first schedule of Solo was completed in Kochi. He is expected to start the second schedule after completing his portions for Soubin Shahir’s debut directorial Parava.
Solo reportedly features five heroines. Model turned actress Arthi Venkatesh was earlier roped in to play one of the female leads. She had even shot for a few scenes with Dulquer. Ann Augustine is making a comeback through this movie. Apart from the lead actors, there will be supporting actors from Tamil and Malayalam industry.
Both the director and Dulquer had earlier mentioned that Solo will not be an usual run of the mill kind of movie. It will be a commercially viable romantic entertainer with a different style and treatment. The movie is produced by Bejoy Nambiar’s home production banner Getaway Films and Abaam Movies.
