Dulquer Salmaan is all excited about the release of Solo’s Telugu version – Athade
Bejoy Nambiar directorial Solo is easily the most ambitious attempt by Dulquer Salmaan in his acting career so far. An anthology of four different films, the movie had Dulquer playing four extremely different roles – an army man, a musician with a stammering problem, a revenge seeking husband and a cold blooded gangster.
Solo made as a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual hit screens in October last year. Upon release, the movie was met with mixed response from the critics and ended up failing to make any sort of impact at the box office. Solo is now making a comeback as the Telugu version of the movie titled as ‘Athade’ is hitting screens today (June 22).
Dulquer, who has always had Solo close to his heart, is all excited about the release as he penned a note on his Facebook post, which reads,
I am really excited to announce the release of Solo, dubbed in Telugu as Athade. It’s amazing to see how our movies are going different places in different languages. Hope you enjoy it.
Bejoy Nambiar conceived Solo’s story based on the four basic elements of nature – Water, Wind, Earth and Fire. Dulquer’s four characters – Shekar, Trilok, Rudra and Siva – are basically the avatars of Lord Shiva. Even though the attempt to try something unqiue was appreciated, the movie failed to strike a chord with the common audience during its original release. The makers will be hoping for a change in fortune this time with the Telugu release.
Dulquer is now popular among the Telugu audience thanks to the huge success of his recently released film, Mahanati. The makers of Athade will be trying to cash in on that to have a good run at the box office.
