Dulquer Salmaan pens a heartfelt note remembering Irrfan Khan!
Actor Irrfan Khan, who worked majorly in Bollywood, passed away today after battling cancer for over two years. The 53-year-old breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai where he was admitted due to colon infection. Condolences are pouring in from fans and colleagues worldwide.
Dulquer Salmaan is one of the very few from Malayalam industry who was lucky enough to share screen space with Irrfan Khan. Dulquer made his Hindi debut with ‘Karwaan’, in which Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar played the other major roles. Following Irrfan’s unfortunate demise, Dulquer took to his social media handle to share Irrfan’s photo and pen down a heartfelt note sharing his experience working with him.
Dulquer has written about how Irrfan made him comfortable and treated everyone on set equally. He has also added about how he used to observe the veteran all through the film’s shoot like a student and a fan. The post reads,
You were this humongous talent, a living legend, an international movie star. And yet, you treat all of us on Karwaan and everyone you met, as equals. By some ease of your nature, you made us all feel like family. You were kind, witty, charming, curious, inspired, compassionate and always fun. I observed you the entire time like a student and a fan. Thanks to you, all through shoot I had a constant smile plastered on my face. I laughed endlessly, struggled to keep a face, and so often stared at you in absolute awe.
In return you always had that grin. That amused grin at the world. Almost like it surprised you at all times. It’s how I’ll always remember you.
Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour in 2018 and sought treatment in the UK for a year. He is survived by his wife Sutapa Sikder and two sons, Ayan and Babil.
