Dulquer Salmaan replaced Abhishek Bachchan to bag a dream Bollywood debut
Earlier in the day we had reported about Dulquer Salmaan’s much awaited Bollywood debut. The young sensation is making his entry to B Town with a light hearted entertainer to be directed by debutant Akarsh Khurana. Ace actor Irfan Khan and Mithila Palkar are also part of the cast.
Reportedly, Dulquer is playing a Bangalore based youngster in this movie. The movie is tipped to be a light-hearted comedy entertainer in which Dulquer and Irrfan Khan will be seen as friends who are on a road trip. However, not many know that Dulquer was’nt the first choice for this movie.
The makers had initially approached Abhishek Bachchan to play this role but he had to opt out as his dates clashed with JP Dutta’s Paltan. Abhishek has previously worked with the veteran director in films like Refugee, LOC Kargil and Umrao Jaan. He pulled out of Akarsh Khurana’s film due to his successful rapport with JP Dutta, who launched him in Refugee. Abhishek’s role eventually landed in Dulquer Salmaan’s hands which also paved way for his Bollywood launch.
Ronnie Screwvala is producing this yet-to-be-titled movie under his banner. Akarsh Khurana has also co-written the movie along with Hussain Dalal, the dialogue writer for successful films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2 States. According to trustworthy reports, the movie will be shot majorly in Kerala. The crew members have been camping in Kochi for over two weeks now for the pre-production works.
Dulquer, meanwhile is awaiting the release of two of his movies. Bejoy Nambiar’s Tamil-Malayalam bilingual Solo and Soubin Shahir’s Parava are scheduled to release in September during the Onam season.
