Dulquer Salmaan’s film with Abhilash Joshiy to be made on a big canvas
We had earlier reported about veteran filmmaker Joshiy’s son Abhilash turning an independent director. Dulquer Salmaan will be playing the lead role in his directorial. In his recent interview, Dulquer revealed that the film will be an entertainer made on a big canvas. Abhilash is planning to make it like his father’s films, which are known for their commercial value. Abilash N Chandran, who had scripted Joshiy’s ‘Porinju Mariam Jose’, is penning Abhilash’s maiden film as well. Dulquer’s own production house Wayfarer Films is producing the film, which is yet to be titled. A formal announcement regarding the project is expected to be made soon.
Dulquer is currently in Kashmir shooting for a romantic period drama directed by Telugu filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi. The star plays an army officer named Lieutenant Ram in the film and Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur is paired with him.
In Malayalam, Dulquer had recently finished shooting for ‘Salute’, a cop film directed by Rosshan Andrrews. He also has a film each in Hindi and Tamil coming up. Balki of ‘Padman’ fame will be directing the Hindi film while the Tamil film titled ‘Hey Sinamika’ is helmed by popular dance choreographer Brinda.
