Dulquer Salmaan’s Hindi debut Karwaan is a road movie!
As we all know, Dulquer Salmaan is making his Bollywood entry this year with ‘Karwaan’, in which he co-stars with Irrfan Khan and internet sensation Mithila Palkar. The movie marks the directorial debut of noted actor/theatre personality Akarsh Khurana.
As per the makers, Karwaan is a road movie. Dulquer plays Avinash, techie working in Banglore. Circumstances force him to take the trip from Banglore to Kochi. His friend Shaukat, played by Irrfan Khan, also accompanies him in the journey. On the way, they pick up an young girl as well to join them.
Karwaan is a light hearted entertainer which traces the story of three people who come from different walks of life. Dulquer’s character Avinash is a reserved person while Shaukat is a fun guy with a humorous take on life. Mithila plays a bubbly young girl who has a well defined character of her own. It is a slice of life kind movie with prominence to realistic humour.
Director Akarsh Khurana has penned the movie’s story jointly with Adhir Bhat. The former has previously scripted movies like Humshakals and Krrish 3. He has also co-written the script of Karwaan with Hussain Dalal, the dialogue writer of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2 States. Ronnie Screwvala is funding this upcoming movie.
The makers have announced that Karwaan will be hitting screens worldwide on June 1.
