Gautham Vasudev Menon to announce his debut Malayalam movie in January!!
Gautham Menon is one of the most revered contemporary filmmakers in the South. A very ambitious filmmaker, Gautham has carved a niche for himself in the industry with some critically and commercially acclaimed movies. He has directed films in Tamil, Telugu and a couple in Hindi. Though a half-Malayali by origin, the director is yet to make a movie in the language.
The ace filmmaker was recently in Kerala for the audio launch of the upcoming Malayalam movie Naam. He is making his maiden appearance in Malayalam by playing a cameo role in the movie. During the event, Gautham was asked whether he has any plans to make a Malayalam movie.
The director is quoted saying, “I’ve planning a movie here for sometime now. I’ve interacted with Mohanlal sir, Mammootty sir and now recently with Fahadh, Nivin, Tovino and even Vineeth. At some point, I’m sure something will work out. Hopefully by January or February I’ll be able to make an announcement.”
Currently, the director is working simultaneously on two projects. He has got 10 days of shoot left for Dhansuh’s Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta and Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram. The Dhansuh starrer, which is a romantic-thriller, will be the first to release.
Dhruva Natchathiram is being planned as a trilogy. First part of this action packed spy-thriller will be hitting screens by mid next year. He has also got plans to make a multi-starrer film with actors from all four South industries. The movie, which is said to be titled as Ondraga, will be shot and released in all the four languages. Let’s wait for an official word from the director about his plans for 2018.
