Mahanati, the biopic on legendary actress Savitri is gearing up to hit screens on May 9. This Nag Ashwin
directorial has Keerthy Suresh playing the role of Savitri. Dulquer, who is making his Telugu debut, is playing Gemini Ganesan in the movie. A beautiful photo of the two lead actors was released in social medias today. Dulquer and Keerthy look like a great couple in the movie. Since this is the first time the two actors are working together, cinephiles are excited about their on-screen chemistry.
Mahanati traces Savitri’s life from the 1940s to 1980s and features those films she acted with NT Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageshwara Rao and other legends from the Telugu and Tamil film industry. Savitri was briefly married to actor Gemini Ganesan and the movie will also show some lesser known details about their relationship.
Since Savitri was popular in all the southern industries, the movie is releasing in Tamil as well, as Nadigayar Thilagam. The movie also stars Samantha, Vijay Devarakonda, Naga Chaitanya, Rajendra Prasad, Mohan Babu, Shalini Pandey and Prakash Raj in major roles. It is produced under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies.
