Here’s the release date of Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Ee Ma Yau!

Lijo Jose Pellissery’s eagerly awaited movie Ee Ma Yau is finally getting ready for theatrical release. As per latest reports, Aashiq Abu’s OPM Dream Mill Cinemas will be releasing the movie all across Kerala May 4, Friday. The movie is produced by Rajesh George Kulangara under the banner of RGK Cinemas.

Ee Ma Yau scripted by National award winner PF Mathews is based on the lives of people who live in the coastal area. The narrative is primarily centred around a death and subsequent events that happen during a funeral. The entire movie was shot in and around Chellanam and was wrapped in just 18 days time.

Ee Ma Yau is actually the acronym of Eesho Maryam Ouseph. The movie won a total of three awards at the State level last year. While Lijo Jose Pellissery bagged the award for best director, Poly Valsan was honoured as the best supporting actress and Renganaath Ravee as the best sound designer.

After winning the State Award, Lijo Jose Pellissery said that Ee Ma Yau was the most satisfying film that he has done so far. The movie was initially supposed to hit screens last December and a preview show for industry insiders was also held couple of days before that in Kochi. Celebrities who watched the movie heaped extremely positive reviews after the show. However, the release got pushed as the makers decided to send it to some film festivals before making a mainstream release.

Vinayakan, Chemban Vinod Jose and Dileesh Pothan play the lead roles in Ee Ma Yau. Like the director’s previous films, a bunch of newcomers are also part of the supporting cast. Its technical crew includes cinematographer Shyju Khalid, composer Prashanth Pillai and editor Deepu Joseph. All eyes now on May 4.
