High expectations for Godha
Tovino Thomas is one of the most promising actors among the younger crop in Mollywood. The actor who started his career from a non filmy background has now made a space for himself in the industry through his amazing performances.
Unlike other contemporaries, Tovino has not yet been typecast. He has done a wide variety of characters in such a short period.
This year, his first release was Ezra which had Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead. Tovino played a police officer’s role for the first time through this movie. Though his character had limited screen time, his performance was noted. His well built looks and poise suited perfectly for a smart young officer.
He has two other highly anticipated releases this year, Godha and Oru Mexican Aparatha. The latter’s trailer received a massive response from the viewers.
Godha, directed by Basil Joseph is gearing up for release. The director made his debut in 2015 through the comedy entertainer, Kunjiramayanam which was a commercial success. But Godha promises to be an entirely different movie. As the name suggests, the movie revolves around wrestling. Tovino is playing the character Anjaneya Das in the movie. The actor will seen in a beefed up look for playing the role of a wrestler. The movie’s teaser released a few days was well appreciated.
Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi is playing the female lead while screen writer turned actor Renji Panicker is also playing a pivotal character as Tovino’s father in the movie.
Godha is written by Thira fame Rakesh Mandoti. Music department is handled by Shaan Rahman. Vishnu Sarma has wielded the camera while Aanandam fame Abhinav Sunder Nayak is in charge of the edits. The movie is bankrolled by Mukesh R Mehta under the banner of E4Entertainment.
