Hindi remake rights of Drishyam 2 acquired
Mohanlal’s hugely successful ‘Drishyam 2’ is getting remade in multiple languages. While shoot for the Telugu version starring Venkatesh as the lead has already been completed, the Kannada version is expected to start rolling soon. Meanwhile, Panorama Studios International has acquired the Hindi remake rights.
In a statement released by the production house, they’ve said that, with the huge success of ‘Drishyam 2’, the story needs to be told with passion and commitment and we as producers are committed to that. Antony Perumbavoor, the producer of the original, also expressed his happiness in the Hindi remake getting materialized. He sounded confident that the production house will justify the film. Director Jeethu Joseph is also glad that the film gets a wider reach with the Hindi remake.
The first part ‘Drishyam’, in Hindi, was directed by Nishikant Kamat. Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran and Tabu played the lead roles. It remains to be seen if the same actors return for the second part.
