Madhavan is not only popular in South India alone but he has a nationwide popularity as an actor and has become the part of many great films in all major film industries in India. He had made his debut in acting in a Hindi film in a small role and later done a role in an English film and appeared in Kannada as well. But the film that turned his career was the Tamil film named Alaipayuthey directed by the master director Mani Ratnam which was a great success as well as a critically acclaimed one.
Madhavan had got the Filmfare award for Best Male Debutant through that film and he had become highly popular with that in Kollywood. Later he became a busy actor in South Indian languages and worked with Mani Ratnam again and also acted with the legend Kamal Haasan as well. He had done a Malayalam film as well, during that time which is titled as Made In USA but it was not a success unfortunately.
Madhavan had acted in many Hindi films as well but the one that made him very popular in Bollywood was his role in Aamir Khan starrer film named ‘‘Rang de Basanti’’ and later another Aamir Khan starrer in 2009 named 3 idiots which had become the highest box office hit in India gave him a great place in Bollywood. Later he delivered hits like Tanu weds Manu and Tanu weds Manu returns.
Madhavan says that he hopes to not get bored by cinema one day. If that happens he will live like an ordinary man. No one can be in cinema forever everyone has to move away at some point or the other says this multilingual actor. He added that when it happens to him he will spend that time with his family as he had lost many important family moments while he was busy with his films. He wants to recapture those moments with his family. Madhavan also wants to indulge more in social and cultural activities as well.
