Mammootty’s daughter Surumi sponsors for welfare activities through her paintings
Mammootty apart from being a popular star has always been known for his benevolence. The actor has regularly promotes philanthropic activities and has financially supported many patients for their treatment. Like father like daughter, Mammootty’s daughter Surumi is sponsoring for welfare activities for the poor through her paintings.
Surumi’s drawings of nature in major cities of India is ready for sale. The paintings are being sold for humanitarian activities of the independent organization ‘Vas’, in which Mammooty, Surumi and her husband Dr Rehan Sayeed are trustees.
Surumi’s husband Dr. Rehan Sayeed is the Chairman of Motherhood Hospital. She said that her family supports her wholeheartedly while drawing. Her husband Rehan encourages her during each stage of the drawing. She also added that her father, mother and younger brother Dulquer Salmaan also give encourage her to do better. She is intending to organize an exhibition after doing some more drawings.

Whenever he comes back from foreign visits, Mammootty makes sure to get his daughter some of the best available drawing instruments and colours. These gifts helped Surumi improve her artistic abilities.
Surumi was very interested in paintings from her childhood itself. She regularly participated in all the competitions and has bagged many prizes for drawing at the school level. Her passion and love for paintings enrolled her in the Stella Maris Fine Arts College in Chennai. After doing completing her graduation in Chennai, she did her Masters from the Chelsea College of Arts, London.
Interestingly, it was Surumi who designed the logo of their home production and distribution banner Playhouse Entertainments.
