After Mammootty, Vikram to play the lead in this director’s next movie!
Vikram is currently in Turkey busy with the final leg of shoot of Dhruva Natchathiram. This much anticipated spy thriller directed by Gautham Menon is expected to hit screens by the end of this year. After wrapping up Dhruva Natchathiram, Vikram will be joining the sets of Saamy 2, directed by Hari.
Latest buzz is that Vikram has committed for a new project with acclaimed filmmaker Ram. Kalipuli Thaanu of V Creations will be funding this movie. The three-film-old Ram is known for his unique style of filmmaking that is miles away from the regular masala potboilers. All his three movies – Kattradhu Tamizh, Thanga Meengal and Taramani have won widespread acclaim.
Thanga Meengal, released in 2013 won three national awards including the award for best Tamil film. Ram is a much revered filmmaker and when he teams up with a phenomenal actor Vikram, the audience can certainly expect for a quality output.
It is still not known when Ram’s movie with Vikram will actually go on floors. Both of them are currently busy with their respective commitments. Ram is working on the final patch up works of Peranbu, his upcoming bilingual with Mammootty in the lead. The movie, which has been in the making for sometime now, is expected to release in December.
Vikram, meanwhile has finished shooting for Sketch, a mass entertainer directed by Vijay Chander of Vaalu fame. Vikram plays a North Chennai guy in the movie and Tamannaah plays his romantic interest. The movie is currently in the post production stage and is scheduled as a Christmas release.
