Many filmmakers in Hindi are keen to work with Dulquer Salmaan: Bejoy Nambiar
Dulquer Salmaan is not just a Malayali actor anymore. He is very popular among the Tamil audience and is currently working on his debut Telugu movie. There are also reports about a high profile launch for Dulquer in Bollywood. Several Hindi directors like Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Varma have appreciated his acting and expressed their wish to work with him.
Bollywood filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar is making his South Indian debut with a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual movie Solo starring Dulquer in the lead. The director is noted for his films like Shaitan, David and Wazir. There have been several speculations about Bejoy Nambiar introducing Dulquer in Bollywood.
In a recent interview, Bejoy Nambiar clarified about these reports that has been doing the rounds for sometime now. When quizzed about why his upcoming movie Solo was made as a bilingual, Bejoy said, “It was Dulquer who bounced the idea of doing it as a bilingual. I liked the idea and knew it would work if we cast it correctly. Dulquer is a familiar face in Tamil Nadu. If I’d had a chance, I would have tried to make it in Hindi too. It’s just a matter of time before he cracks it in Bollywood.”
He also added, “I know many filmmakers in Hindi who are keen to work with Dulquer. I am pretty sure he will be there very soon. If not with anyone else, I will do a film with him there.”
Solo is an one of it’s kind anthology film. The movie has a plethora of actors from industries acorss the country. Neha Sharma, Arti Venkatesh, Sai Dhansika and Sruthi Hariharan play the female leads. Solo is gearing for a worldwide release this September.
