‘Melvilasom’ and ‘Apothecary’ director Madhav Ramdasan’s next titled ‘Ilayaraja’
After making acclaimed movies like Melvilasom and Apothecary, director Madhav Ramdasan is back with his next. His new movie has been named as Ilayaraja, the title poster of which was unveiled today (March 19) in Facebook. The director himself announced the title through his official handle. He also informed that details about the cast and crew will be updated in the coming days.
The title poster of Ilayaraja is designed very interestingly. It is designed on a chess board, so we presume it might have something to do with mind games. Movie Musical Cutz is presenting the movie, which is scheduled to go on floors in April.
Madhav Ramadasan’s debut movie Melvilasom was released in 2012. The movie based on the Hindi play ‘Court Martial’ won rave reviews from the critics. With only a handful of characters, the director came up with a riveting court room drama. Parthiban, Suresh Gopi and Thalaivasal Vijay played major roles in the movie which went on to win several awards. It was also selected for screening at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival.
Three years later in 2014, Madhav Ramdasan’s next movie Apothecary was released. Suresh Gopi, Jayasurya and Abhirami played the lead roles in the movie, which was a medical thriller. The film received a special jury mention in the 45th Kerala State Film Awards for actor Indrans and producer George Mathew. When Madhav Ramdasan makes a comeback after four years, Malayalis cinephiles are hoping for another quality film from him. Stay tuned for more updates.
